Stackup Community Update: January 2025

2025 is off to a remarkable start.
John Rising

Hi everyone!

We've spent January building something big: a completely redesigned smart account that makes operating on blockchains cheaper, dramatically simpler, and ready for serious business use.

Here's what's now ready for you:

Redesigned Smart Account Infrastructure

We launched a completely redesigned smart account system that dramatically improves how businesses manage their on-chain operations:

  • Unified permission management across all networks
  • Simplified multi-chain operations
  • Gas fees covered for all users, even on mainnet
  • Completely non-custodial

The technical details: We initially launched with modular smart contracts for enforcing permissions. This arrangement allowed us to enforce all account permissions onchain, but came at high complexity and cost. Our new system strips away layers of complexity while keeping what matters most: cryptographic guarantees that your funds can only be accessed according to your rules.

You can view the new smart account implementation on Github.

Enhanced Platform Features

We've rolled out several powerful improvements to make blockchain operations more seamless:

  • In-app token swaps
  • Self-serve platform access
  • Hardware wallet support (coming soon)
  • MPC signing capabilities (coming soon)

Product Validation

You're not alone in wanting better crypto operations. CFOs and founders are already using Stackup to handle their entire treasury—from payroll to vendor payments—without the usual headaches of hardware wallets and manual processes.

Every day, they're proving what we've known all along: running your business on blockchain doesn't have to be complicated.

Looking Ahead

With our new infrastructure in place, we're focused on expanding access to the platform and helping more businesses simplify their blockchain operations.
